The 2026 Sportage brings a bold evolution of Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy. Smooth, soft surfaces now contrast with rugged, sheer forms to create a more confident appearance that balances off-road capability with modern styling.
The most noticeable changes appear at the front and rear, where redesigned bumpers create a more commanding presence. The stacked LED headlight design features optional cube-style projection, while amber LED "Star Map" daytime running lights provide an unmistakable signature. At the rear, LED "Star Map" taillights with a transparent design complete the updated look.
New wheel designs debut across the lineup, with 17-inch, 18-inch, and 19-inch alloy options depending on trim level. X-Line models receive distinct styling elements that emphasize their adventurous character, including unique bumpers, skid plate-shaped molding, and gloss black accents on side mirrors, roof racks, and window surrounds.

The 6-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive system provide confident handling, while the combined fuel economy of 6.7L/100km makes this powertrain highly efficient. Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): The most powerful Sportage variant pairs a 1.6-litre turbo GDI engine with a 72kW motor for 268 horsepower - a 7-horsepower gain over the previous year. This revised system includes a 13.8kWh lithium-ion polymer battery and delivers standard all-wheel drive capability with 907 kilograms (2,000 lbs) towing capacity when properly equipped.
The 2026 Sportage lineup now includes expanded electrified options. The gasoline lineup features LX (FWD), LX (AWD), X-Line, EX, EX Premium, and X-Line Limited trims.
